چکیده

The geochemical characteristics of water produced from coalbed methane (CBM) wells contain rich information about the associated geology, environment, and production. This study was conducted in Southern Qinshui Basin, where samples were collected 10 typical CBM their ionic compositions quality parameters tested. differences chemical between different producing coal seams single-seam production (SPWs) multi-seam co-production (MCWs) compared, formation process revealed. following conclusions obtained: (1) that mainly Na-HCO3-type generally weakly alkaline moderately mineralized. No. 15 seam more enriched SO4, Ca, Mg compared to 3 seam, variations intense, reflecting a complex chemistry formation. (2) data MCWs do not lie SPWs, nor they satisfy linear relationship sources SPWs. Water tends communicate with active outside seams, contains small amounts Cl total dissolved solids, thus inhibiting pressure reduction efficiency limiting effect co-production. (3) Based on principal component analysis compositions, two characteristic components extracted, these represented types hydrochemical processes. first type is pyrite oxidation carbonate dissolution, its opposite represents sulfate reduction. second reflects groundwater retention confinement characteristics, or stronger recharge conditions. (4) A model area constructed. Cation exchange adsorption found be main water–rock interactions measure, determine overall water. Recharge has relatively significant influence MCWs. Pyrite exists Taiyuan Formation, higher sulfur content contributes this reaction. results will assist deepening our understanding mechanisms wells, provide reasons for poor Shanxi Formations.

Composite geochemical database for coalbed methane produced water quality in the Rocky Mountain region.

Coalbed methane (CBM) or coalbed natural gas (CBNG) is an unconventional natural gas resource with large reserves in the United States (US) and worldwide. Production is limited by challenges in the management of large volumes of produced water. Due to salinity of CBM produced water, it is commonly reinjected into the subsurface for disposal. Utilization of this nontraditional water source is hi...

Coalbed Methane Canister Desorption Techniques

The British Columbia Geological Survey Branch and the Geological Survey of Canada have initiated ajoint project to assess the coalbed-methane potential of coal deposits in British Columbia. This project entails participation with private industry to obtain fresh coal samples for desorption from exploration projects throughout the province. Samples are collected from the drill site and undergo a...

Reconstruction of a Nearly Complete Pseudomonas Draft Genome Sequence from a Coalbed Methane-Produced Water Metagenome

The draft genome sequence of Pseudomonas stutzeri strain K35 was separated from a metagenome derived from a produced water microbial community of a coalbed methane well. The genome encodes a complete nitrogen fixation pathway and the upper and lower naphthalene degradation pathways.

Production Forecasting of Coalbed Methane Wells Based on Type-2 Fuzzy Logic System

Coal bed methane (CBM) reservoir production is controlled by a large set of parameters: geology, tectonics, reservoir, completion and operation. Its simulation process is complicated, relative information is difficult to be obtained, so it is necessary to analyze accurately coal bed gas potential production capacity by adopting other mathematics methods in case of incomplete information. Regard...
